Running Highlights
June 2011: East Bay Triple Crown Trail Championship winner, female open division (top cumulative time in Tilden Tough 10, Lake Chabot Trail Half Marathon and Woodminster XC 9M).
March 2011: 1st age group, 12th female overall, Oakland Marathon (race report).
February 2011: 2nd female and 4th overall, Montana de Oro 50K (race report).
October 2010: 5th female, 31st overall in 50-mile debut, the Dick Collins Firetrails 50 with a time of 8:31 (race report).
August 2010: 1st in age group, 2nd female and 19th overall in the Skyline 50K with a 50K PR of 4:46 (read more).
July 2010: 1st female, 5th overall in the Sequoia 30K Pacific Coast Trail Run in Oakland (2:54).
November 2009: 1st in age group and 10th woman overall in the Salomon K42 Adventure Marathon in Patagonia (read more).
June 2009: 1st woman overall in a hilly 10K, the Eden Med Center Run to the Lake (42:01).
May 2009: 4th woman at the Ohlone 50K in 5:54. Redemption after last year.
March 2009: 2nd woman, 3rd overall at the inaugural Diablo “50K” (actually 33.75 miles). A great event!
March 2009: PR and 4th female overall at the Napa Valley Marathon with 3:05:53. On the 15th anniversary of my start as a runner, I met my longstanding goal. Read more.
December 2008: 1st female, 9th overall at the Pacific Coast Trail Runs’ Rodeo Beach 50K. Pushed to squeak under 5 hours with 4:59:29. Read more.
November 2008: 2nd age group, 3rd female at the Piedmont Turkey Trot. How can a 3-miler be such a struggle? Read more.
November 2008: First female, third overall at the Mount Diablo Trail Adventure 10K. It was a slow-mo mud fest but an adventure to be sure … first ever 10K win, first ever running without shoes (no joke, read the report in my blog)!
May 2008: The Ohlone 50K Wilderness Run from Fremont to Livermore. Age group win and fourth female (6:38). The hardest, hottest, hilliest, most hellacious run of my life; for details, here’s my race report [PDF].
April 2008: Fourth female overall and 1st in age group at the Big Sur International Marathon (3:21).
October 2007: Finished first female, second overall and set new women’s course record at the Golden Hills Trail Marathon (3:49).
August 2007: First 50K at the Pacific Coast Trail Run’s event in Redwood Park. Broke 5 hours (4:55) and finished first female.
June 2007: First female at Lake Chabot Trail Challenge Half Marathon (1:39).
March 2007: Lucky 13! PR’ed at my 13th marathon, which was where it all started: the Napa Valley Marathon (3:11).
November 2006: Third time winning Mount Diablo Half Marathon Trail Challenge.
October 2006: First female and age-group record setter at Golden Hills Trail Marathon from Tilden Park in Berkeley to Lake Chabot in Hayward (4:03).
February 2006: PR at Kaiser San Francisco Half Marathon (1:28).
November 2005: Second time winning the Mount Diablo Half Marathon Trail Challenge.
April 2005: Tenth marathon, first on trail: the Mount Diablo marathon (a bruising 5:23).
December 2004: PR at California International Marathon in Sacramento (3:15:08 – ouch, missed my goal of breaking 3:15 by 9 seconds!)
August 2004: First time breaking 40 minutes in the 10K, at the Alameda Run for the Parks (39:56).
March 2004: First LA Marathon running as a mentor to teens in Students Run Oakland. We were on the course for about 5-and-a-half hours.
December 2003: First female and 5K PR (18:52) at San Ramon Bah Humbug 5K.
November 2003: First female in Piedmont Turkey Trot 3M (19:10).
November 2003: First female in the hilly Mount Diablo Half Marathon Trail Challenge (1:38).
October 2003: Captained a 12-person team for the 199-mile Providian Relay from Calistoga to Santa Cruz. Our team broke 24 hours and came in 2nd in the coed division.
October 2002: PR at Chicago Marathon (3:22). It was my sixth marathon overall and the first since giving birth to our second child in May 2001.
April 2000: My fifth marathon is the Boston Marathon. Not a great time (3:46) but a lifelong memory.
October 1999: Fourth marathon, first one post-pregnancy (gave birth to my daughter in March 1998) and first one with Team in Training. Portland Marathon in 3:34. Boston qualifier!
March 1995: First 26.2 miles! Napa Marathon in 3:56.
